TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Will Begin Using Metal Detectors Next Week

New security features will be in place at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury next week. Starting Monday, there will be metal detectors at the entrances to the Emergency Room and the Trauma Center. The Hospital says anyone coming in through the walk-in entrances will be screened before they are admitted to the waiting area. Visitors will have to empty their pockets of cell phones, RFID-blocking wallets, keys, and vaping pens. Smart watches, steel-toe footwear, and certain belts will also need to be removed, according to TidalHealth. Purses and bags may also be inspected.
