A new survey by Talker Research reveals that Americans are guilt-tipping much less in 2025 than 2024. Americans have spent an average of $283.20 on guilt tips in 2025. That’s down 38% from 2024. Other findings:
- On average, people guilt tip 4.2 times per month
- 20% of people always or often tip higher due to feeling pressured or guilty
- 41% of people attribute reduced tipping to the cost of living
- Only 11% of people say their tipping has increased in 2025.
