A new survey by Edelman reveals that workers’ trust in colleagues is at a record low of 73%. That's down from 82% in 2024. Other findings:
- Trust in direct managers was 72%, down from 79%. Trust in CEOs was 66%, down from 70%. Both were record lows.
- 75% of workers fear unemployment tied to automation, offshoring, or insufficient training.
- 13% of Gen Zers believe most people can be trusted.
- 47% of Gen Z workers have left a job because they lacked trust in leadership.
- Gen Z workers are 16 times as likely as Gen X workers to say they distrust coworkers.
