The video for Chase Rice’s latest single, “Three Chords & The Truth,” features an eight-year-old boy named Nicholas Thompson. Chase hand-picked Nicholas to be the star of the clip, which followed the singer on a journey to change a child’s life with the gift of music.
Chase tells us about the idea behind the video: “You gotta stretch what you’re doing. You gotta think beyond what is so obvious right in front of you that everybody’s doing and that’s what this was for us. We found Nicholas – I was in South Korea when I decided. In the email in the video I’m literally in South Korea and I’m like, ‘This is our kid. Let’s go after it.’ It was a hard decision cause there were four or five kids we narrowed it down to that deserved it. I just felt like he was the one and it was a three, four-week long video we shot from Nashville, Tennessee to Arkansas is where I bought the guitar, Springdale, Arkansas to South Korea to Morehead, Kentucky, and it’s all real footage. There was nothing fake. There was no acting."
"Three Chords & The Truth" is the lead single from Chase's 2017 album Lambs & Lions.
