The Cast For A Cure annual charity event has donated over $10,000 to the Tunnell Cancer Centers Special Needs Fund to help families with the abrupt burden of medical bills, transportation needs, and short-term living expenses. The thoughtful donations from the local business community are critical to the success of this event and the donated items are used for a silent auction, raffle chances and pick-a-prize giveaways. The Cast for a Cure annual surf fishing tournament was the heartfelt idea of Clark Evans (Old Inlet) and Brandy Timmons (Delaware Fisherwomen) in 2013, when members of their families were suddenly diagnosed with cancer.
