Drake White Rushed To Hospital After Nearly Collapsing On Stage

Friday night (August 16) Drake White was hospitalized after nearly collapsing onstage while opening up for Scotty McCreery in Virginia.

White was in the middle of his set at Elmwood Park in Roanoke, Va., when he started to experience a variety of symptoms. White's tour manager, Andrew Stone, shared with local news station WDBJ7, that he started feeling light-headed, lost all energy and was unable to stand up during his performance.

"He's been going through medical procedures back in Nashville and it's uncertain what the issue is right now," Stone said. "It's likely due to the heat."

WDBJ7's Leanna Scachetti who was at the concert, reports that a member of the band quickly ran to White's assistance. She says she then witnessed White being rushed backstage where EMS responded and took him out on a stretcher. Someone then came out on stage and announced to the crowd that White had an accident but was alert. Details on the accident were not revealed at the time.

Following the accident, McCreery took stage for his headlining set telling fans "Prayers up for Drake White!" White later turned to Twitter apologizing to fans who weren't able to get a full show from him. He wrote, "Hey friends- sorry we had to cut it short tonight. I'm getting checked out by some of Roanoke's finest docs and will keep you posted. Thanks for your prayers and continued support. Love ya!"

Fan's comments wishing White well and quick recovery poured in. The singer has released several projects, scoring hits with songs like "Livin' The Dream" and "Makin' Me Look Good Again." He's currently out on the road opening up for McCreery making stops all across the country in South Carolina, Texas, California, Kentucky and more. The tour is also scheduled to travel to Australia for a few dates.
