Dick Raymond was certainly one of the good guys in our business. He was kind, gentle and for someone who talked for a living, he was a great listener. He had a legendary set of pipes too.
We don't know all about Dick's amazing career. We do know it was amazing. Dick didn't talk much about his accomplishments, all the people he helped, the people he helped get in the business, the difference he made in the communities where he lived. We know what he did here. He cared. He cared about you the listener, about his co-workers and making sure the station sounded the absolute best it could. And it did.
Dick was one of the ones that gave us our chance doing mornings on Froggy 99.9 over eight years ago. We were doing a sports show called "Off the Bench with Whiskey & Randy" on AM 960 after our FM signal switched formats. We were both wondering what was next and if there was even going to be a next. Dick believed in us. He believed in his team. We'll never forget that.
He had an amazingly successful career in radio. He earned respect, he manitained his character and he lead by example. He beamed about his wife Denise, his kids and his grandkids. Especially Joshua (his other grandkids were born after he left Delmarva). He always was talking about his buddy Josh!
We lost a good one.The Froggy Fam misses him. Sending Love, Condolences and prayers to Denise and the rest of his family.
Thank you Dick. You lived a great life. We will miss you. Love you man.
