Dixie Crush Singer Lindsey Lagestee Dead At 25

Dixie Crush singer Lindsey Lagestee has died at the age of 25.

The Chicago-based country cover band confirmed Lindsey's passing on Facebook, revealing that she was struck by a car on the way to a performance in Illinois last Friday (February 14), passing away three days later.

“To our Dixie Crush family, aka the #CrushCrew, thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support these past few days,” read the band’s statement. “Some of you may have already heard the terrible news, but It is with the heaviest of hearts, we sadly share that Lindsey Renee passed away on Monday (February 17) due to complications from the accident last Friday. Our hearts are broken over this senseless tragedy.”

Lindsey's bandmate Jim Nonneman shared additional details about her tragic death, telling an outlet that she was hit by a car after exiting her car. “She had just parked a couple of blocks down for the club we were scheduled to play,” Jim shared. “She exited her pickup truck and was making her way to the venue when she was struck by a car.”

“Above and beyond her beautiful voice, Lindsey just had a way of connecting with every audience leaving an indelible impression,” the band’s statement on Facebook continued. “Not only would she give an amazing performance, but after every show, Lindsey would come offstage, take time to meet anyone who wanted to say hi, take pictures, and build friendships [...] Lindsey cherished every moment on stage and put her heart and soul into every song…every performance."

Dixie Crush went on to thank fans and friends for sharing "beautiful stories" of their encounters with Lindsey, saying, "we received notes, texts, emails, and posts from literally hundreds of friends and fans sharing stories and expressing their sympathy and condolences. The common thread was love."

Lindsey is survived by her parents, Linda and Vaughn, sisters, Lauren, Carrie and Samantha, nieces and nephews, Andrew, Colin, Danielle, Alexander, and Amber, and her boyfriend, Kevin.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help her family fund her funeral, which will be held on Saturday, February 22.
