Maryland DNR Announces Second Right Whale Slow Zone East Of Ocean City

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries has announced a second right whale Slow Zone in the waters east of Ocean City. The DNR says an aerial survey team has detected the presence of the endangered whales and the second zone will be in effect through March 6. Last week a different Slow Zone was extended through March 5th. Boaters are asked to avoid both of the Slow Zones or transit at ten-knots or less in areas where the whales have been seen. Maps of the zones can be found on the DNR website.
