A new survey by The Argus reveals that 66% of people would opt for a 'phone-free' wedding if they could. Other findings:

- 35% of people think the three month spending rule on engagement rings is outdated

- 22% of people think asking for parental permission before proposing should be a thing of the past

- 30% of people say parents paying for the wedding is the tradition they would most likely get rid of

- 19% of people use AI to organise the perfect proposal

- 90% of people think having bridesmaids and groomsmen is the most important tradition
