A new survey by Trusted Housesitters reveals that 87% of pets have their birthday or “Gotcha Day” recognized. Other findings:
- 60% of pets were adopted or rescued.
- Among adopted and rescued pets whose owners answered the birthday question, 78% did not have an exact birthday when they joined their family.
- Of pets without a confirmed birthday, 72% still have a special day celebrated by their owners. Some owners choose an estimated birthday or mark the anniversary of the pet joining their family.
- Celebrations range from an extra treat to presents or special outings.
