GA Judge 'Banishes' Elf On A Shelf From His County

A Georgia judge is outlawing a relatively new Christmas tradition from his county. Cobb County Superior Court Judge Robert Leonard tweeted the order last week banishing Elf on the Shelf. Leonard said this is due to the toy posing "a risk to the emotional health and well being of Cobb's young children." Elf on the Shelf is based on the idea the toy elf reports the actions of children to Santa Claus. Leonard's tweet went on to say, "When these Elves do not move, it leaves our children of tender years in states of extreme emotional distress." The judge also called his order a "gift to tired parents."
