Cole Swindell revealed new details about his upcoming chapter of music in a long-awaited announcement on Tuesday morning (March 25).

Swindell’s new studio record, Spanish Moss, will arrive on June 27. The record’s title track will make its debut on Friday (March 28). Swindell previously confirmed the ballad’s release date after sharing a few sneak peeks on social media, and eager fans commented they’re “obsessed already.”

“Took the top off the Bronco/ Left it in the garage/ Disappeared in the night like camouflage/ Oooh, I was holding you/ Under that ocean moon over Georgia/ Setting that Shenandoah mood/ Should’ve known better/ June don’t last forever/ I don’t know about you, but I ain’t forgot/ You had me falling for you, baby/ Hanging off me like that Spanish moss.”

The Georgia-born country star and father-to-be will release “Spanish Moss” after a few recent heartfelt singles, including “Forever To Me (Our Version),” “Kill A Prayer” and more. Spanish Moss is Swindell’s latest full-length record since Stereotype (2022) and its deluxe edition, Stereotype Broken (2023). That project included “Drinkaby,” “Never Say Never” with Lainey Wilson, Swindell’s award-winning single inspired by Jo Dee Messina’s iconic 90s anthem, “She Had Me At Heads Carolina,” and more. Swindell’s other studio records include his self-titled debut in 2014, You Should Be Here (2016) and All of It (2018). Spanish Moss will include “Forever To Me,” the ballad Swindell penned for his now-wife and mother-to-be Courtney Little Swindell. See the full track list below.

“Spanish Moss has been a work in progress for over 2 years now,” Swindell said in a statement. “I knew it would be a tough task following up Stereotype and the success we had from that album, but sometimes a challenge can be motivating and exactly what’s needed to grow. For me, the album making process has always had a common theme ... best song wins. Although it’s never that simple.

“Life has changed a lot for me in the best way since the last project and I wanted to be able write and sing about those blessings while also not forgetting where I came from and the pain from the past,” he continued. “One of the beautiful things about music is even though you may not be currently going through something at this very moment, more than likely someone out there IS. I think this album is balanced that way and has a little bit of everything from songs like: ‘Kill A Prayer,’ ‘Dirty Dancing,’ ‘Forever to Me’ to ‘Dale Jr.,’ ‘Country Boy Can’t Survive,’ and ‘Heads Up Heaven.’

“The day we wrote the song ‘Spanish Moss’ I could tell we had something special and different for me, and I even thought to myself then ‘Spanish Moss could be such a cool album title’ considering it holds a special place in my heart and reminds me of where my Dad lived when I was growing up,” Swindell said. “From working with songwriters and producers I had never worked with to going back to the drawing board more times than I care to mention, I think having that patience and taking those chances really made this project what it was always meant to be and unlike anything I’ve ever done. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the entire album from top to bottom and I truly hope they can find a little of themselves and their own stories somewhere along the way in Spanish Moss.”

Swindell is part of the star-studded lineup of the 2025 iHeartCountry Festival, which is slated to take place on Saturday, May 3. The festival, hosted by iHeartRadio’s Bobby Bones, will return to Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Other artists in the lineup include Brooks & Dunn, Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt, Megan Moroney, Bailey Zimmerman and Nate Smith.
