Dustin Lynch was passed over for an ACM Awards nomination this time around and the news hit him pretty hard. The one and only time the singer was recognized by the Academy was in 2014 when he was nominated for New Artist of the Year. Dustin posted an emotional video to Instagram where he watched the nominations live from a hotel room in Phoenix and was pretty disappointed to not hear his name called once. At the time, he had a friend on the phone to whom he said, "Well, we successfully didn't get nominated again. Career-changing song. I don't get it. What am I missing? . . . Bummer, man. Worked freaking hard for this. Sucks." Dustin is referencing his four-week Number One hit "Small Town Boy," his third platinum single and fifth consecutive Number One hit.
