Running is a discipline that many shy away from, but now there's a race just for those types of people. It's called the Boerne 0.5K, and it's scheduled for Saturday, May 5th in the Texas city of the same name. The race is only half of one kilometer-- or 546-yards. Race entry is $25, and the event is raising funds for Blessings in a Backpack, which provides foods during weekends for underprivileged children. VIP "underachievers" can pay $50 to have a Volkswagen bus transport them for the length of the course. Also, a few brewpubs are sponsoring the event, and participants can get free beer at the start and finish lines.
