The Entertainment Department at Harrington Raceway and Casino is proud to announce that pop iconic group Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone are scheduled to perform at the Exhibit Hall on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 as part of the Live On Stage series line-up.

It was the tumultuous 1960’s and the Rock and Roll musical landscape was about to change. Fifties rock and roll, R&B and pop icons such as Chubby Checker, Ricky Nelson, Fats Domino and Elvis Presley would see a generation changing to a new beat. The beginning of the sixties brought us the start of the Motown Record label which introduced the world to a new sound and list of incredible performers to the music scene. That era would also see a whole new type of music burst on the scene known as the “British Invasion” when rock and pop music acts from across the Atlantic became a cultural phenomenon in America. Influenced by the rock and roll American scene of the fifties and sixties, groups such as The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones and Herman’s Hermits were at the forefront of the invasion.

At the young age of fifteen, Peter Noone was receiving international fame as “Herman”, the lead singer of a new group called Herman’s Hermits. This group would go on to record what would be string of iconic hits from that era selling over sixty million recordings and garnering fourteen singles and seven albums that would reach gold. Classic hits include “I’m Into Something Good”, “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter”, I’m Henry VIII, I Am”, “Silhouettes”, “A Must To Avoid”, “Listen People”, “There’s a Kind Of Hush” and many more. Herman’s Hermits would be featured throughout those years on hundreds of top-rated television programs and would appear with such legends as Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin and Danny Kaye as well as appearing in three highly successful feature films for MGM: Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter, Hold On! and When the Boys Meet The Girls.

During the seventies, Noone would continue to perform, compose and produce songs for many artists including icon David Bowie. During the eighties, Noone found himself on the Broadway stage starring in The Pirates of Penzanace winning critical reviews for his performances. Peter’s acting career would  flourish throughout these years as well with guest starring roles in prime-time television shows including Married With Children, Too Close For Comfort, Dave’s World, Quantum Leap, My Two Dads and Laverne and Shirley. He has hosted specials for PBS, VH1 and currently has a popular weekly series on Sirius XM satellite radio called Something Good with Peter Noone – 3 hours of 60’s music with remembrances and commentaries with Peter himself.  Whether it’s the sixties pop icon, stage, television and film star, music composer or radio personality, Peter Noone is the real deal and will be LIVE IN CONCERT with Herman’s Hermits on the Harrington stage for one incredible night!
