Founded in 1982 in Nashville, Tennessee, as an attraction for the theme park Opryland USA, the original group was initially known as the Grizzly River Boys, then later the Tennessee River Boys. Formed by original member Matt Davenport, the band would go through several membership changes in the initial years. In 1989, the group finally had the winning combination of members and the group has consisted of the same core musicians ever since. Marty Roe (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Gene Johnson (mandolin, guitar, fiddle, tenor vocals), Jimmy Olander (lead guitar, banjo), Brian Prout (drums), Dan Truman (keyboards), and Dana Williams (bass guitar, baritone vocals).

In 1992, the group adapted the name Diamond Rio and the rest is history. Scores of hits and awards would follow throughout the years and they quickly became known for their incredible vocal harmonies and varied instrumentation. Their sound was originally defined by country mainstream, bluegrass and even rock influences, later going on to draw more influences from Christian Country music and Country pop.

Celebrating their 25th Anniversary in the music industry, Diamond Rio has sold more than 10 million albums, won a Grammy Award, a Dove Award, six Vocal Group of the Year wins (CMA and ACM), released two Greatest Hit albums, earned five multi-week no. 1 singles, 22 Top 10 singles, three certified Platinum and five gold albums. Come hear classic hits like 'How Your Love Makes Me Feel,' 'One More Day,' 'Beautiful Mess,' 'Unbelievable,' 'In A Week or Two,' and many more. Don’t miss this chance to see this country music favorite up close and personal in the Exhibit Hall!
