A new study by Harvard University reveals that drinking an extra cup of coffee on a daily basis helps with weight control. Researchers found an extra cup of coffee without sugar lowers the risk of gaining weight over four years. However, adding a teaspoon of sugar to the coffee cancels this benefit. Nutritionist Erin Wade says, “Increasing intake of a warm, low- to no-calorie beverage may improve body weight, as increasing fluids, especially warm fluids, can improve the feeling of satiety, which may lead to fewer overall calories consumed throughout the day.”
