A new survey by Savings.com reveals that 54% of families will spend more on back-to-school shopping this year. Other findings:
- 56% of parents are making personal sacrifices to afford school expenses
- Parents plan to spend between $494 and $780 per child on new school clothing and supplies
- back-to-school spending is expected to exceed $38 billion this year
- 40% of families are skipping items on their shopping lists due to financial stress
