Kathy Griffin Admits To "Going Too Far" in Photo

Now, Kathy "explained" the photo on Twitter.  She said, quote, "I caption this 'there was blood coming out of his eyes, blood coming out of his . . . wherever.'  OBVIOUSLY, I do not condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone, ever!  I'm merely mocking the Mocker in Chief."

People from both sides of the aisle condemned the photo shoot.

DONALD TRUMP JR. said, quote, "Disgusting but not surprising.  "This is the left today.  They consider this acceptable.  Imagine a conservative did this to Obama as POTUS?"

HILLARY CLINTON supporter DEBRA MESSING said, quote, "It wasn't right when people . . . lynched Obama effigies, just as what Kathy Griffin did isn't right now."

And CHELSEA CLINTON Tweeted, quote, "This is vile and wrong.  It is never funny to joke about killing a president."

Kathy QUICKLY realized she messed up.  She posted a video saying, quote, "I sincerely apologize.  I'm just now seeing the reaction of these images.  I'm a comic, I crossed the line . . . The image is too disturbing.

"I understand how it offends people . . .  I ask your forgiveness, taking down the image, gonna ask the photographer to take down the image.  And I beg for your forgiveness.  I went too far, I made a mistake, and I was wrong."

Of course, this apology might have been inspired by the fact that people started Tweeting the image to the Secret Service, and they RESPONDED.  They said, quote, "On it!  The Secret Service has a robust protective intelligence division that monitors open source reporting & social media to evaluate threats."

Here's her apology.
